FloorPlanMaker is built on a no-account principle: we do not ask you to sign up, and we do not ask for your name, email, or an account profile. This policy explains the limited data we do handle when you generate a floor plan.
What we collect
Each time you click Generate, we write one record to our database containing:
- A hashed IP address — your IP is passed through SHA-256 with a rotating salt before storage. The hash is not reversible; it exists solely to enforce the per-hour rate limit and deter abuse.
- Your prompt text — the description you type, stored for abuse detection and cost reconciliation. It is not linked to any user identity.
- The generated output — the floor plan source and metadata (token counts, status, latency). Used for quality monitoring.
- Timestamp — used for rate-limit windowing and operational monitoring.
What we do not collect
- Name, email, or any account information
- Payment information (the Service is free)
Third-party services
AI providers process your prompt to generate the result. Their policies govern their handling of inference requests.
Cloudflare Turnstile — a privacy-friendly, no-cookie challenge used to tell humans from bots on the Generate endpoint.
Plausible Analytics — a self-hosted instance for aggregate traffic stats. No cookies, no individual tracking, no personal data.
Microsoft Clarity — we use session recordings and interaction analytics to understand where visitors get stuck. Form inputs and generated floor plans are masked, and we send only anonymous product events such as generation outcome, download, and handoff clicks—never your prompt or generated output. Clarity receives your cookie choice from our consent banner; declining keeps it in limited cookieless mode.
Advertising — the site shows no ads and does not load advertising scripts or use advertising cookies.
Sentry — error monitoring. Anonymized stack traces only.
Data retention
We store prompts, generated outputs, full responses, hashed IP addresses, timestamps, and operational metadata. Our operational retention policy is up to 90 days. Automatic deletion is not currently implemented, so records may remain longer. Public Examples or Gallery copies remain until removed; they do not expire with operational records.
Anonymous public Gallery
Eligible requests are published anonymously by default. Public items show only the prompt, rendered plan, originating tool, and date—never an IP hash or identity. Prompts containing obvious contact details, unsafe content, or system test text are excluded. Gallery pages carry noindex directives for search engines.
Your rights
To request removal, use the Report link on a public item or email hello@floorplanmaker.app with the item link or request details. We do not maintain accounts; please provide enough information to identify the record.
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. The “last updated” date above will reflect any revision.
