Bathroom floor plan examples with dimensions
Click a plan to open it in the editor. The description stays in the box above, so you can change the size or the fixtures and generate your own.
Bathroom floor plans are mostly about fitting fixtures around the door: where the tub or shower goes, how much space the toilet needs, and how wide the vanity can be. Open one of the examples below, or type the room size and the fixtures you want, and you get a to-scale 2D plan you can edit and download.
How to make a bathroom floor plan
Give the room size
Enter the inside dimensions, for example 5 × 8 ft, and which wall the door is on.
List the fixtures
Tub, shower, toilet, single or double vanity, and extras like a linen closet or a washer.
Say what goes where
For example "tub across the far wall" or "toilet away from the door". Keeping fixtures on one wall can simplify the plumbing.
Check and download
Open the result in the editor, check the door swing and clear floor space, then download SVG or PNG.
Bathroom sizes and clearances
A 5 × 8 ft room fits a full bathroom with a standard 60 in tub, a toilet, and a vanity in a row along one wall. A half bath (toilet and sink, no tub or shower) can fit in about 4 × 5 ft. Primary bathrooms often start around 8 × 10 ft when they include a double vanity and a separate tub and shower.
Many US codes based on the IRC ask for at least 15 in from the center of the toilet to a side wall or fixture and at least 21 in of clear space in front of it. Check the door swing: if it hits the toilet or vanity, try an outward-swinging or pocket door.
The plans here are conceptual 2D layouts. Confirm fixture sizes and local code requirements with your contractor before you build.
Frequently asked questions
What is a common full bathroom size?
5 × 8 ft is a common size for a full bath with a 60 in tub, a toilet, and a vanity. Click that example to open it, or type your own size.
Can I plan a Jack-and-Jill bathroom?
Yes. Describe the two bedrooms and the shared bath between them, and the plan puts a door from each bedroom into the bathroom.
Does it show the door swing?
Yes. The plan draws the door swing so you can see whether it clears the toilet and vanity. Say "door opens outwards" or "pocket door" to change it.
How is this different from the bathroom layout planner?
This page collects finished bathroom floor plan examples to start from. The bathroom layout planner is for laying out your own existing room from scratch.
Is it free?
Yes, with no signup. Generation has hourly fair-use limits, and you can download SVG or PNG.
