Garage floor plan examples by size
Click a plan to open it in the editor as a to-scale layout. Change the size, the doors, or the storage in the box above and generate your own.
A garage floor plan starts with the number of cars, the overall size, and the door widths. After that it is about what else has to fit: a workbench, shelving, bikes, or a workshop bay. Open one of the examples below, or type your own size and contents, and you get a to-scale 2D plan you can edit and download.
How to make a garage floor plan
Give the size and bays
Enter the footprint and the number of cars, for example "24 × 24 ft two-car garage".
Place the doors
Give the garage door width (one 16 ft door or two 8 to 9 ft doors) and where the side or house door goes.
Add storage and work areas
Workbench, shelving, a tool wall, bikes, or a separate workshop bay. Add sizes if you know them.
Check and download
Open the result in the editor, check the space around each car, then download SVG or PNG.
Choosing a garage size
A one-car garage is often around 12 × 20 to 12 × 24 ft. Two-car garages range from about 20 × 20 ft, which is tight for two cars plus storage, to 24 × 24 ft, which leaves room for a workbench and shelving. Measure your own vehicles: length, width with the doors open, and the space you need to walk around them.
For garage doors, a single 16 ft door is easier to drive through, while two 8 to 9 ft doors keep more wall for storage between them. Keep the area in front of the house entry door clear.
The plans here are conceptual 2D layouts. Check setbacks, permits, and structural details with your local building department or a builder.

How is this different from the garage layout planner?
This page collects garage floor plan examples to start from, by size. The garage layout planner is for organizing storage and parking in a garage you already have.

Is it free?
Yes, with no signup. Generation has hourly fair-use limits, and you can download SVG or PNG.
